בן אריה. נולד בעיר ולודימין, אוקראינה. משפחתו נספתה רובה למצוא ככולה בשואה והוא ניצל והגיע למחנות העקורים באזור האמריקני בגרמניה.בהיותו במחנה העקורים ניסה יעקב למצוא את בני משפחתו ופנה לכל הרשויות שטיפלו ברשימות הניצולים, אבל מאמציו לא נשאו פרי. יעקב עלה לארץ-ישראל וגויס מיד לגדוד 23 של חטיבת "כרמלי". ביום י"ט בתשרי תש"ט (8491.01.22) נפל יעקב בקרב במנרה אשר בגליל העליון. הוא הובא למנוחת-עולמים בבית-העלמין הצבאי בראש פינה.
